Two things (not three)
I love books. I eat them for breakfast. Plain. Without milk and sugar even.
What’s your oh-mi-god-you-have-to-read-this book?
I like music too. I find those compact disc things cut my gums though, so I don’t actually eat those. They are nice and shiny though. I like shiny.
What’s one of your all-time favourite songs? You know, the one where you put the cd player on “repeat” and either sing along in the car or dance around the living room like nobody’s watching. (Or in my case, like there is nobody pointing and laughing)

You dance around the living room even when there is someone watching. I even point and laugh sometimes.

I have read many wonderful oh-mi-god you have to read this books ove the past year. However, I was simply captivated by The Kite Runner by Khaled Hasseini.
Repeated Song of the Day (yes, they change daily) Brick House by The Commodores..oh yeah, I am THAT hip.
November 30th, 2004 at 3:46 pm
The most recent oh-mi-god book: Mara and Dann, by Doris Lessing.
The usual flail-about-senselessly song: Once in a Lifetime, by Talking Heads.
November 30th, 2004 at 6:46 pm
Oh-mi-god book: It will always be Charlotte’s Web. It’s the only book that’s ever made me sob. Mind you, I was only seven years old at the time.
Turn it up silly song: Afternoon Delight by the Starland Vocal Band. Causes wailing and jerky arm movements.

Jeepers, you could check out “From the Borderlands” if you enjoy short stories that are dark and weird with just a hint of cinnamon. Stephen King, Whitley Strieber, John Farris and some other fine writers are in there with brand new stories. I’m kinda in there as well, but they cut off the last two lines of my story. Which sucks.
No, make that IT REALLY, REALLY sucks. Like Paris Hilton. Like Jenna Jameson. Like, like…
Anyway. Yeah.

A Day In The Life by the Beatles - sorry, not very original or obscure - just absolutely fucking true

Hey, remember that kids book about the mole with poo on his head? I saw a gift set the other day that contained the book and a little stuffed mole doll complete with poo on his head. I thought of you.

Um. There’s a book called “The List of 7″ by Mark Frost which is rather fabulous…
And I can listen to Del Amitri until I sing it in my sleep. Which I think I do.
Ooooooooh. Aaaaaaaaaaand…. do you and Mark drive a red Sunfire? And were you driving up Atwater going north at 11:30 last Friday? If not you two have identical doubles…
December 1st, 2004 at 10:23 am
Nope, no red sunfire. And 11:30 is way past our bedtime. Hmmm, I think there is potential for an evil plot whereby the doubles are made to do our jobs and give us all the money.

My secret double life with the second Jen has been revealed. I knew I should’ve got a less conspicuous automobile. Now I’m gonna have to introduce the two Jens to each other and there will be a big fight over which one is cuter *sigh*
Look into your heart pretty baby, is it aching with some nameless need? Is there something wrong and you can’t put your finger on it? Right then, rollllll to me.

A favortie book of mine is, “The Five People You Meet In Heaven” by Mitch Albom. It touches your soul and gives you a unique vision of a life lived and how not everything is as it seems.

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee and Spitting Games by Snow Patrol.
December 1st, 2004 at 5:33 pm
We like Loreena McKennit and Arcade Fire, but feel that books are just a passing fad, like television or that inter-net thing.
December 1st, 2004 at 7:30 pm
I’m addicted to the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.
December 1st, 2004 at 8:36 pm
My absolute favourite book(s) are the ones about growing up in wartime England by Helen Forrester. I’ve read and re-read all of them.
Guilty song? Um, I’ll dance and sing to anything as long as it’s on the 80’s channel on TV. Loudly, with gusto.
Remember when your Mum used to sing to her music and you’d cringe? I’m turning into my Mum.
December 2nd, 2004 at 9:16 am

If they haven’t taken them down yet, you should be able to download the mp3s from those sites.
December 10th, 2004 at 11:18 am
I eat books too…and sadly forget all about them soon after…much like my relationships.
I’m still engrossed in the same Bill Bryson book that Mark was reading recently…which means you’ve either read it already or didn’t want to, so it would suck as a suggestion. Other OMG books I like you’ve probably already read.
Whore.
How about Crescent by (I think) Diane Abu-Jabar? It’s full of stories, Arab food and romance if you are in the mood for something other than Harry Potter. I also like most stuff by David Sedaris. I don’t know. The pressure!
As for loud must-hear-it-again songs, right now it’s Gilles Valiquette’s ‘Je Suis Cool’, ‘Down With the Clown’ by Insane Clown Posse, and some evil Japanese rap song by Dragon Ash. Oh, and at the office it’s been this heartfelt violin tune that was used in some civil war documentary series that was one of the songs on a Classical Chillout compilation cd. I shit you not.

It’s a bit twisted, but my all-time must read book is “Lamb” by Christopher Moore. (I’m stoppiing by through Blog Explosion.

There’s something to be said for dancing in the livingroom.
