Hurley’s Pubquiz
Yes, it’s that time again.!
If you are in the Montreal area, and want to meet me (minus the oven mitt, but thankfully wearing pants) please join us tonight for the monthly pubquiz at Hurley’s Irish Pub.
Quiz starts at 8pm and our motley crew can be found upstairs in the back room. Just ask Dusty, the best waitress ever.
Maximum of four players to a team.. Each member of the winning team gets a $20.00 gift certificate for Hurley’s Irish Pub.
Be there, or, well, be somewhere else.

DAMN! I’m from Montreal, but I live/go to school in Ontario. I love Hurley’s, it has such a great atmosphere. I went to Ireland this summer, and Hurley’s is one of the few Irish pubs in Montreal that capture the feeling of a true Irish pub. Have a great time, I’m jealous!

hmm…well…the last time I tried that drive I ended up in Ottawa…so I think I’ll have to pass.
yes yes…you like hardwood floors…I get it
But I’m doing all this so I can move out…so I’m not overly concerned with making it absolutely perfect…at least not anymore, I started the major fixing up to move the middle of last summer…it’s getting old. Besides…if I sell to someone who is just going to rent the place they won’t care if it’s carpet or floor.
We’ll see…the budget for all this ran out a long time ago so unless I find the carpet cheaper than I’ve been finding it I’m gonna do the floors out of necessity. I did the livingroom floor last summer…I dunno if you saw those pix or not. It’s a major production…as opposed to calling someone and watching them put in carpet
That project is on temporary hold anyway as I try to waterproof the basement. Almost there

You can give the floor pix another shot…fotolog was pretty messed up earlier.
I hear what yer syain…but somehow I don’t see it making much of a difference really. But no matter how nice I make it…it’s still a 2 unit building so most likely a rental and I don’t think most landlords really give a shit…the people I bought it from certainly didn’t :o(
Plus new carpet will have that …uh… new carpet smell that works like the new car smell!
My next house will have all hardwoods :o)
Prolly not a beach house though…looking not too far from here so Roz can stay at her job and we can get some property so that I can get a barn and turn it into a multi-purpose studio.
We’ll see what happens…mom will be here in less than 2 weeks…staying almost a month. So I should get lots done and she and I have always house-hunted well together. I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to wrap this up and get the house on the market by Spring.
The greatest lesson I have learned about home repair was when I was working for a guy that installs kitchens and bathrooms for Home Despot (as well as pretty much anything else associated with a house).
It is simply this…
Don’t be affraid.
Just go for it….there isn’t anything that can’t be fixed.

Jamey, I’m really confused… what do your comments have to do with the trivia night at Hurley’s?

hey,

This pub quiz thing….is it the first tuesday of every month? I’m thinking I should convince the other half to come to the next one. Our heads are full of useless knowledge just itching to get out.
