Tonight, I am particularly proud to be Canadian.
Canada Parliament approves same sex marriage
I like this quote from our Prime Minister: “We are a nation of minorities and in a nation of minorities, it is important that you don’t cherry pick rights. A right is a right and that is what this vote tonight is all about.”
And this one from Justice Minister Irwin Cotler: “Rights are rights. None of us can or should pick and choose whose rights we will defend and whose rights we will ignore, the government must represent the rights of all Canadians equally.”

It’s so nice to see our government do what is best for the citizens of Canada, rather than what is best for the politicians of Canada. Like you, I’m very proud to be Canadian tonight.

Oh that’s so cool! Yay Canada! Maybe, just maybe this will have a positive influence on the US. I can dream can’t I?
