New Zealand - Day 24
We had a long drive to Picton ahead of us today so we left early, stopping on the way for a healthy breakfast of cookies. We stopped again for lunch in Kaikoura, a nice little town with a seal colony on its outskirts. We drove out to the seal colony but couldn't see any seals, except a couple on distant rocks. As we were leaving though, Jen spotted one closer to the road so we parked up and went to commune with the seal for a while.
From there we drove straight to Picton, arriving at 4:30. We checked into the Jasmine Court motel as recommended by Frommers. A very nice motel with excellent facilities including complementary internet access, dvd players in the rooms, a dvd library, cd system with cds. We also had a very comfy bed and an excellent shower. After relaxing for a while we went out to supper at the Settler's Arms, a cozy restaurant with great food including a delicious steam pudding dessert.
